Message Sigh. I love my car sometimes, then I hate it.
It's a '93 black NA with 87k miles which I bought for $11,900 w/80k miles on it. Runs great. Pretty good exterior condition, great interior condition. Shot rear shocks.
I look at Autotrader just now, and what do I see? A 1990 red 5spd 2 seater w/64k miles, stored winters for $10,000. EXACTLY what I wanted, for 2k cheaper than what I payed. In BETTER condition and less miles. FUCK.
When the sunlight hits the right side of my car (left side has been mostly repainted, so it looks really good) just right, the paint looks like SHIT. Now it's starting to rust behind the doors at the rockguard. It's bone stock except for brakes, and a few other things, minus rear shocks. Read: not all that much fun to drive. Isn't blazingly fast, can't handle very well right now. And my ebrake is dragging, making noises. I go to Z meets, and notice that my car sits higher than all the other Z's, and has more chips in the front. I notice all the new cars, with no problems, flawless paint jobs, and cheap aftermarket parts. Sigh...
On the other hand, when the sun hits my car just right (or not at all), the car looks flawless and beautiful. I take the tops off, pick up a friend, and we go cruising around downtown laughing at all the rice boy's faces as they gawk at my car. We play music, pick up girls. Feel like ballers. In fact, a girl today just told me how she thought my car was "so sweet". But I'm not so sure...
Sorry for ranting on, but I just need to vent. I'm considering selling her, just because it makes sense. I plan to get a TT in the spring, winter's coming up fast, I don't have a beater, and can't afford one. My Z is just gonna get higher miles and worse condition over the winter, and be terrible in the snow. Sure, I may do a few mods, and although I may like the car alot more afterwards, they won't make the car sell for any more.
So what I'm taking into light consideration is: Sell the Z, buy a winter SUV till spring, then buy a TT in the spring and keep the SUV as my winter beater for the next winter. I really don't want to sell it, but that just makes more sense. I dunno we'll see... hopefully someone will talk to me out if it :(
My other option is replace the front end, get an exhaust, get shocks, get more mods till spring, then sell it for a TT. I'm much more enthusiastic about the latter one, but I know the first one makes more sense. Hmmm...
Sorry for going on about this, I just figure if there's anyone that could understand this, it's you guys. I REALLY don't like the idea of not being a Z owner for 5-6 months...:(
Thanks for listening.

Oh and P.S. dont think my Z is a POS or anything, it's not. I've had people tell me it looks better than any other Z they've seen, and that it's in great shape. I'm just a perfectionist: it can never be in good enough condition.
